The Field of Hope Scholarship is a testament to our commitment to fostering educational opportunities and empowering the next generation of Ugandan leaders. Designed to support deserving individuals in pursuit of higher education, this scholarship aims to uplift and inspire young Ugandans who demonstrate exceptional academic merit, leadership potential, and a passion for creating positive change in their communities.
Through the generosity of our donors and partners, the Field of Hope Scholarship offers financial assistance to talented Ugandan students. This scholarship includes financial support for their tuition and school fees but also extends to their boarding and meals.
Details of the Scholarship
To apply for this scholarship, please review the following guidelines and application materials. The selection of the student will be identified and voted on by the Field of Hope Board members. This scholarship will also be contingent on the student’s performance at school and by an annual review from the Executive Director and Country Coordinator.
Eligible students will meet the following requirements:
- Eligible students must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a Field of Hope partner school.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to pursuing tertiary education, specifically a two-year Diploma in an agriculture-related field. Eligible programs include, but:
- Diploma in Crop Production and Management
- Diploma in Animal Production and Management
- Diploma in Agriculture
- These programs must be undertaken at one of the following institutions:
Bukalasa Agricultural College, Busitema University – Arapai Campus, or Mountains of the Moon University. - Maintain enrollment in an agriculture-focused program for the duration of the scholarship. Any change of major or program written approval from Field of Hope will result in revocation of the scholarship without prior consultation.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and active participation in leadership roles within their school, community, church, or youth organizations.
- Show a clear commitment to serving the agricultural community, with a desire to contribute to food security, sustainable farming practices, and community development.
- Exhibit strong personal motivation, responsibility, and willingness to learn, particularly in environments that require discipline and self-management.
Scholar Expectations
- All scholarship recipients are expected to meet the following obligations throughout the duration of their studies:
- Submit academic progress reports at the end of each semester to the Executive Director and Country Coordinator, including official transcripts and a brief written reflection on challenges and achievements.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.60. Students who fall below this requirement will be placed on academic probation and reviewed by the scholarship board.
- Complete a Field of Hope–approved internship or volunteership, contributing time and skills to programs that support agricultural development, education, or community outreach.
- Uphold high standards of moral character, integrity, and professionalism both on and off campus. Any violation of this standard will result in a formal review by the Board and Executive Director and may lead to disciplinary action or termination of the scholarship.
- Communicate regularly with Field of Hope staff and promptly report any academic, financial, or personal challenges that may affect performance.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for Field of Hope, demonstrating leadership, accountability, and service within their institution and community.
Budget of Scholarship
The Field of Hope Scholarship covers tuition/course fees, hostel accommodation, modest meals, and essential academic materials including stationery and printing for the course of the Program. Any expenses beyond these provisions shall be the responsibility of the student and/or their parent or guardian.
Application Deadlines
To apply for the Field of Hope Scholarship, please submit all forms and letters by the 31st of July, 2026 to the Field of Hope Office at office@fieldofhope.org. From there, the selection committee will meet and have the identified students selected by August 31st, 2026.
