University Scholarship Program

Overview

The Field of Hope Scholarship is a testament to our commitment to fostering educational opportunities and empowering the next generation of Ugandan leaders. Designed to support deserving individuals in pursuit of higher education, this scholarship aims to uplift and inspire young Ugandans who demonstrate exceptional academic merit, leadership potential, and a passion for creating positive change in their communities.

Through the generosity of our donors and partners, the Field of Hope Scholarship offers financial assistance to talented Ugandan students. This scholarship includes financial support for their tuition and school fees but also extends to their boarding and meals.

Details of the Scholarship

To apply for this scholarship, please review the following guidelines and application materials. The student’s selection will be identified and voted on by the Field of Hope Board members. This scholarship will also be contingent on the student’s performance at school and by an annual review from the Executive Director and Country Coordinator.

Eligible students will meet the following requirements:

  • Must be from a Field of Hope partner school
  • Have a strong desire to attend University and seek a 3 or 4-year degree in an agricultural-related field. This can include agricultural education and extension, agriculture leadership, or other agricultural science degrees from a Ugandan public institution of learning.
    • If the student changes majors from agriculture to another degree without consultation, this will revoke the scholarship.
  • Should have already been admitted at the said institution of learning under the relevant program
  • Complete an internship or volunteership with Field of Hope
  • Have a 3.60 cumulative GPA for continued support to be effected.
  • Produce academic reports on a semester basis to the Executive Director and Country Coordinator
  • Play an active role in leadership within their communities and past schools
  • Desire to serve the agriculture community and the world around them.
  • Maintain a high moral character and integrity throughout their college years. If this conduct is broken, the student will be reviewed by the board and the Executive Director for further action.

Budget of Scholarship:

The scholarship funds will cover tuition and functional fees, housing/hotel fee and meals for the scholarship duration. Any other expenses arising due to the academic undertaking will be met by the student/ guardian/ parent.

Application Deadlines

To apply for the Field of Hope Scholarship, please submit all forms and letters by the 30th of June 2024 to the Field of Hope Office at office@fieldofhope.org. From there, the selection committee will meet and have the identified students selected by the 31st of July 2024.
